It would be a great mingling opportunity and I was wondering does this happen outside of clubs and events?

You know, just everyone turns up at a coffee shop at a certain place and time, or anywhere else really? As a newish member it would be a great way to socialise with others from the scene

They do happen, I've yet to go to my first later this month which is meant to be a pretty big affair.

This one in the Brum Social in Birmingham and I've seen that there are others happening too, one being Halifax.

Look around the meets pages as I think they get posted in there
