Been a while since I've been active on fab and in the life but definitely looking for a bit of fun ??

Feel free to inbox me.

Was going to add that i can sing. I visit Cornwall on holiday.... nearest to Looe was probably steamers? I just arranged a party myself...got a few couples and a very sexy fem to attend.

Then met a really fit 23yr old on the bus...came back to mine, joined fab for a few werks but now left and lost touch...

No clubs in Cornwall at all. Closest will be Steamers Torquay, then Secrets in Totnes and Decs in Burnham on sea.

It’s pretty crap around these parts

Exclusively silks is a club in Somerset, and the hot tub is run by a couple on here who throw parties

Would advise checking things out carefully before booking anything at Silks. Believe it has now closed down

It was a great place, but sadly was never going to work for so many reasons.

Steamers is your best bet as they allow single guys in. Secrets is for couples and single females. Check out the meets section on fab for local socials too. Good luck and welcome to Cornwall. Xx

"Is that right silks has gone ??"

Apparantly so according to a couple of posters on here. I did look into it and it seemed hideously expensive for a night. Could have had a week away for what they were charging lol.

No it wasn’t hideously expensive. No different to going to Secrets actually, once you paid to get in and stayed the night.

No. A was never gonna break the scene because not enough people were willing to break away from the other clubs. Click is too strong.

It’s actually really sad. Definitely doesn’t warrant a LOL inserted. You have no idea how it’s made certain people feel

Was a higher end market club. Strict zero drugs policy. Down this neck of the woods....gonna prove a problem.

Poor A. I hope he makes a comeback. We loved the club.

Must admit was a strange place to have a club well out of the way pity they didn't start it in more of a central place might have had a better chance of surviving ?

What, like Secrets?

It was a high end club. Just not enough high end people wanted to go.

People like what they like. Like I’ve said, Secrets and Decs rules aren’t so....strict. Days on end partying...

Silks was a high end club. It had no place down these parts.

It is sad that Silks failed but unfortunately it was always doomed. Not because of clicks, drug policy or even too many in club rules. It failed because it sadly was not thought through properly for what A wanted to achieve.

Totally in the wrong location!

Very high likelihood of upsetting local residents and horse riders in the long narrow lanes to get there and home.

Completely insignificant lack of accommodation for a club that needed at least 80 people to give it any kind of atmosphere. Not allowed to stay on site unless you had booked a room. Of which there was only 8, possibly 11? at a pretty high rate. No local hotels as an alternative.

Started off way too expensive with high entry fee plus membership fees with no proven history that the club would survive.

Then start to giving away free nights to try to get people there. Why pay when you can wait for a free evening?

Advertise membership fees and state no overnight stay in the grounds but offering individuals perks and free membership.

When we went we spoke open and honestly to A and his business partner but unfortunately we just knew he wasn’t going to listen and had convinced himself that he had the perfect business plan.

We decided not to do a review or verification because although the club and A were great it was always doomed for failure and would of been unfair for us to of publicly stated our opinion. Or given the club a great review because, we admit was a fantastic venue but it would of given people a false impression of it being worth the costs, which unfortunately it wasn’t because of the reason above and more.

We feel very sorry for A and unfortunately this will of cost him a considerable amount of money. Also to those others who have took the chance on it being a successful club and paid up for their membership.

Clubs are like Marmite and you can never please everyone, but you have to get the basics right to stand any chance of it becoming a success. It also has to be what your clients want and enough of them. Not what you want and ignore what is reality.

Great shame, fantastic place, lovely man just so many things that always in our opinion pointed to a sad ending.

Actually for me with a part time single income it would have been hideously expensive, as would secrets. I worked out that it would cost nearly a weeks wages including travel to get there. The lol was meant to light my comment not insult anyone. Agree with you about it being sad as there a few options in the SW as it is. We need more clubs not less.
