I’d agree but only after 2001. After that, it was a joke and with over seas posting vanishing. Calling in the light strip replacement team to change a bloody light strip as not allowed to stand on table or chair etc even after coming back from Iraq or Afghan !!! WTF. Cause it wasn’t more dangerous out there apparently... lol. |

done 10yrs got medical discharge after being hit by 2x IED's one in iraq,07 no injury then again in afghan2011 but injured. headly court was amazing
civvie street is crap full of jack bastards looking to do you over.no brotherhood as such/family. if it wasn't for the support from the military then god knows really.

You don’t join for the money! though I did okay investing in property and my side business, sourcing and selling products cheaper than NAFFI prices. Unfortunately, many piss their money up the wall and when their time was served, they had nothing to show.

Another issue for myself and others is if you have been injured or seen friends get injured or pass away infront of you and suffer ptsd, trying to explain what your going through to a civie is shit

11 years. Great as a young man, seen so much of the world. But then kids came alone. I found that operational need made it impossible to be Husband and dad I wanted to be. Family trumped career. I did the right thing and I'd do the same again. But I do miss it, the travel, the adventure, the people, the sense of pride when your jobs made an impact. It gets under your skin is very much part of the fabric of who am. |
