So what is safe sex - and is there any such thing?
The term 'safe sex' seems to have originated in the early 1970's and was used by the Health education in campaigns aimed at reducing teenage pregnancy.
When HIV appeared the term 'safe sex' was applied to sex using a condom as a barrier against infection. It is now generally used as a synonym for sex with a condom as a mrthod of preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases by vaginal or anal. intercourse.
There has always been criticism of the term safe sex as it can be seen to imply that protected sex is 100% safe - which it isn't. However there is no doubt that it is considerably safer than unprotected intercourse. It reduces the risks to a much lower and more acceptable level so ithas to be an advisable precaution.
What about oral sex? It is commonly thought that oral sex is safe. In one sense it is - there is no risk of pregnancy with oral sex but it is not always appreciated that oral sex carries a considerable risk of passing or or contracting a sexually transmitted disease. The risks are considerably greater if there are any cuts in the gums. Oral sex is not safe sex, it is in fact very dangerous and risky sex.
An important question then is what is the point of using a condom for vaginal intercourse of the parties then peform unprotected oral sex? the answer is probably very little.
So next time you do a full swap and use condoms for intercourse and then perform unprotected oral sex - think very carefully. The fact that you enjoy it doesn't make it safe, much as we would like it to. Because there are risks doesn't mean you can't / shouldn't do it - but it is always better to make an informed decision about issues which could seriously affect your health on a long term basis. |

"Safe" sex is a myth.
That doesnt mean you shouldnt be careful.
But it's as important to be careful about who you meet as it is about what precautions you take.
Most on here will insist on the use of condoms, and it would be churlish to say the least to not go along with that.
Just don't be thinking that condoms will protect you from an STD - if you're gonna get it, you're gonna get it.
On the bright side, you're probably a lot safer meeting people from the site than you are with some random person in a nightclub, especially if they are under 25.... |

safe sex
to right practise safe sex its not nice to get caught out.
But above all get yourself tested every six months if your gonna have multiple sexual partners.
i was disgusted to find out a man i played with recently who is nearly 40 and been swinging for a cpl of years has never had to have tests b4 and didnt know how to go about them
im sorry but that is an absolute disgrace considering that man has been to a cpl of the same parties as us and has played bareback with a a few girls at them.
DONT BE DAFT PEOPLE GET YOURSELF REGUALLY TESTED AS WELL AS USING CONDOMS. |

thank you
i totally believe if you you dont get yourself tested you would be either selfish and very stupid to think you will be safe with just condoms alone, have these people not heard of crabs, genital warts and herpies, condoms dont protect you from them and also gonnareah and chlamydia can be caught from oral sex, so get full tests done every 6 months and have a break from playing for a cpl of weeks while waiting for your results, as you then know if your results are clear, that you havent caught anything in the mean time.
play safe in every possible way
and always play protected. you could be clear but some1 else mite not be |

You raise some good points, but as others have said I think a. using a condom b. getting tested regularly is as far as you can go, unless you are celibate. Plus I def think you are safer to meet someone from here - who are more conscious of the risks than the ordinary guy in a club. |
