Attending the grand prix for the first time. General entry rather than grandstands. Any advice?

Not quite over the hill

What Leedsmale said is right. First time visit 4 years ago and went GA. Was queuing at 4.30am to the get the spot we wanted when the gates opened. It was a bit miserable for a few hours but at least it didnt rain, and a couple of hours out of 4 brilliant days was ok. Would recommend an upgrade to a stand though, they usually offer them over the weekend if they havent sold out.

Do you recommend any particular grandstand?

They've all got their pro's & cons. If your there for the weekend you can get into a few for the practice, F2 & GP3 races and check them out. When we went GA we picked out a spot just in front of the disabled access stand between Club and Vale. Last time we went we had seats in Stowe, which was excellant to watch them coming down the Hanger Straight and out to Vale.
