"Don't camp at the bottom of a hill. Don't camp near the Pyramid Stage. Check your valuables into the free storage facilities. Use the toilets in the Kidz Field! Don't expect to have a spiritual moment at the Stone Circle. Use the power lines as a guide if you get lost. Buy a decent trolley. Take wellies/walking boots AND trainers. Do your research so you end up near an entrance as close to where you want to camp as possible, the place is fucking huge! Take wet wipes, lots of wet wipes. Don't take toilet roll, it's free at the valuables lock-ups. The best value food is at the Tor Rugby Club place. Don't spend all weekend in front of the Pyramid/Other stages. Don't be a chair wanker if you're near the front. Set your tent up before getting twatted, or at least half up! Get your wristband put on the opposite wrist to the one that the hand you wipe your arse is on! Don't get that d*unk that you lose your specs, your phone and a very expensive pair of Oakleys when you get stuck in the mud and fall over... Get there on the Wednesday, the place is far more fun and chilled out on Wednesday and Thursday before the bands start on the main stages on Friday. Don't bother queuing for the showers near the Kidz Field, you'll waste half your weekend. Don't bother showering, full stop...or washing for that matter. Wet wipes and a toothbrush is all you need. " This is excellent advice. I've been loads of times and I'm taking some of this on board lol. I always camp near the pyramid stage though. Only thing i do different in easy of advice is. I take a 2 litre water bottle and fill it daily to wash with. Cold mind. I also take a few empty big margarine tubs to pee in if i get caught short in the night in the tent.

"I find the south park 2 is the best camp site bit if a steep hill but if you camp right its quiet.. ish on the night amazing view and short walk to every thing.. no fear of flooding I survived last year though my wellies did not :/ Dont be afraid to take your own drinks as long as its not in glass your fine Camel packs are life savers Always have a meeting point Apps are avalible to locate feiends at the site Extra phone battery if you can I find a touch of vics rub and a cheep face makes makes the long drop bearable (best time is around 5am when they are cleaned Get to your show earlier than you think Explore as much as you can Make life long friends for 5 min Have fun " Yeah last year we managed to find a space at the top of the hill in South Park 2 for our eight man tent, then found we were blocking the fire lane so had to move to South Park 1. Both great campsites though that are close to main areas but are quiet at night. And the view from South Park 2 is amazing; that's when I first realised how fucking enormous Glasto is

No, we're not there this year, it's our fallow year Two of our grandkids turned 13 and we couldn't afford another £500! PM me your band name.

"So how much money do u guys think u'll need for 5 nites camping at glasto? " All of it. Bring lots of protein bars and fruit for snacks/energy. Bring booze. Bring a decent refillable water bottle. Bring a sack truck for car/campsite travel. It can be quite a journey! Just buying food... £20/30 a day for three decent meals, not including treats. Buying alcohol... The rest of your money.

"Anymore glasto tips? " In addition to the other things mentioned.... Pack your stuff into a big plastic box - useful as bedside table and fits onto sack trucks easily. take roll of clingfilm to Attach stuff to trucks and store trucks in lock up. Take travel johns - useful if you're too hungover to make early morning trip to loo! I always take fruit juices and make premixed vodka 'cocktail' to take out in little plastic bottles. Saves a fortune and lighter than cans of booze to carry. We also like our camping comforts so our group takes shower and shower tent, camping gas cooker (for teas / coffee and heating shower water!!!!) and pillows.........

"Lots of great tips folks. I'm travelling from Ireland so flying over. Bearing in mind I hav to fly wat r the necessities? Wat do I def need to bring over with me? " Rucksack, clothes, boots; buy your tent, food, trolley and booze this side. Donate your tent when you leave.

" Donate your tent when you leave." That doesn't mean leave it pitched in a campsite.... if it's a decent tent someone from crew will "tat" it (I.e claim it after public have gone home- standard festival practice) and if not it will get shredded - there are too many tents that get left for site officials to process what's good and what's ruined so they all get flattened and shredded
"I'm not going this year but I work for Small World in the Green Futures field. Check it out, loads of awesome acts and all run off less energy than a kettle! I HIGHLY recommend going and hanging out (literally) at Lost Horizons sauna up by the teepee field (get a weekend wristband, you will want to go back there) and have sauna washes rather than queuing for the showers. When it comes to toilets, go for the long drops rather than the "cattle troughs" they are a hell of a lot cleaner and no risk of splashback (yes, I've had this happen ) ALWAYS have water on you, it's too easy to get dehydrated and feel like crap. Provisions are fooking expensive so bring 3x more baccy/rizlas/lighters than you think you will need and if you need to get cash out try and do it in the 6am-8am period when queues are non existent. Don't bring too many clothes. A lightweight mac in case it rains, a daytime and a night-time (warm) outfit is all you need but DON'T scrimp on socks, they are essential and bring good sturdy boots. " I'll definitely swing past Small World and see what's going on!

We've donated (properly) a few over the years, usually pop-up one's that we've used as storage/fridge/larder!

"I presume there are ATM's on site? Or is it wise to take out all ur money that u'll b needing before u go to worthy farm? " There are ATMs on site, we usually take what we need and keep it in a lock up though and draw it as we need it. So, like an ATM but free
"Crew tickets come about a fortnight before festival start. No idea about punters" Do you mean hospitality tickets? They are out at the end of May so I've been told. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about as long as you take a photo ID
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avC02zNNqIU Glad-stoned-buried 1989 ... an absolute scorcher for the whole two weeks we were there ... it was the third time i played there (but not the last).... the first year that the poolice were alowed onto the site ... this changed the festival forever " This year is my third Glastonbury performance! (And hopefully not the last!)

Try and get to ATMS early otherwise the queues can get a bit hefty" ATM's on site. Free ones are up the hill by the farmhouse. Ones that charge are located other side of the railway tracks bottom of Pennard's Hill. OR withdraw your money before hand and leave it in the free lock ups and take out what you need each day
