"Can anyone recommend any good hotels or places to eat in Reading?
I've a conference mid May and staying over the night before."
If you want to be central, the Ibis and Novotel are right in the town centre. There's also a couple of Premier Inns, one is right next to a Toby Carvery so has parking. There are lots of places to eat at. The riverside by the Oracle has lots of nice places. |

I'll leave recommendations of hotels to other to visitors, as being a native, I don't really stay in hotels. (Though The Hilton is obvs very nice)
But there are some nice places to eat in the centre.
Hit me up when you're here, I'll show you the town!

"I'm off to Microsoft for the day, so thought about something that side of town. However the Pentahotel looks nice."
Oh neat!
So yeah, Penta is LOOOOOOOVELY, but it's on the other side of the centre of town to M$... I mean, it's not far by distance, it's just straddling the centre...
There's a Holiday Inn within easier transport just along the A329. But yeah, it's about what your priorities are. |

Thanks for the advice. I've given a couple of suggestions to the booking people and hopefully I'll get a good one.
Not sure at this point if my colleague is coming with me or not, so might not be able to meet. |
