Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in the Ormskirk area? Will be up there in the next couple of weeks. Nothing too fancy, as just for little old me.

There is a Premier Inn on Southport Road, Ormskirk......I drive past it quite often

That sounds like it's going to have a couple of dodgy fizzy lagers. I'll have to scope out a local bar then.

There are no actual hotels in Ormskirk that I can think of tho a few if the local pubs do rooms (try the Golden Lion) There is a Premier Inn in Scarisbrick on the way to Southport and of course lots of hotels and B&B's in Southport.

Briars Hall in Burscough just outside Ormskirk is a lovely hotel.

The Innkeeper's Lodge has just been taken over in Aughton, I believe. I knew it when it was the Swan many moons ago. No idea what it's like now. It's not far from Ormy though.

There is a premier inn between ormskirk and southport, next to a great lil restaurant called the Morris dancer and another 1 over the road called master mcgraths.
