Hi I would like it to be open to couples and single ladies, with some single guys that are known to couples.
That way people should have a good idea that guys are not just there to gloat.
Don't wish to sound heard just think it would be more fun with men that are vouched for so to speak. Might also help them to increase thier own friends base |

works well for another pair of regular social organisers x |

Silly billies.. ofcourse its only couples and single females! Lol.
Now here's my predicament - know a gorgeous couple local to the area, but they've only been on a few weeks and no one really knows them (but then, that's what socials are for, meet-n-greet and putting names to faces)
On the other hand very few people that may be going (by the sounds of it) know me hence would be able to vouch for me despite being on Fabs almost 5 years and been to other socials all over the country.
So, will there be an exception made for a relative-unknown single male bringing a totally unknown but sexy local couple?

We like that idea, we have been to too many socials that are over run by single guys. A lot of em are OK, like the ones in Brum during a meet from another site, but at others...
To the guy who asked "Hows that gonna work" because the two couples down didn't meet single guys... It's a social! |

So this is a selective social event and hence why not much interest so you would have been better off not putting it on here and just messaged the people you know and wanted to go ! |

Two points:
1) Considering its a social.. who said anything about playing? Unless you're actively suggesting the purpose being a pre-arranged group meet with couples and single fems they want purely for the purpose of playing (not really how I thought social was defined, ie "meet -n-greet")
2) I can't do 17th, I'm in Meday. |

I think the real problem here is the perception of what a social is. By my limited understanding having attended socials in different locations all around the country and on various sites, they are no-pressure "meet-n-greet" opportunities, taking the online world into the face-to-face offline world. Full stop.
Any arrangements to play are not agreed as part of the social but merely between the individuals interested in each other. Simply, if a social attended by 100 has 2 couples that choose to play, this can either take place in some agreed accomodation (ie, a hotel?) or a play room if the venue is in a swingers club.
Socials "generally" are not arranged purely for the purpose of "those you want to play with" unless there is a general theme, for example "Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Summer Meet".
With that said, I don't see a particular problem excluding any one section of the community from a "Pub Social". |

Well said!. This is exactly what a social is. Having been in the scene for a lot of years and having attended quite a lot of socials, this is what they are.
Socials are normally held in a vanilla enviroment (unless it is at a swing club) and at these no play takes place within the social. If you want to play then this is normally done at an after party, in a hotel or where ever agreed.

We did think about aranging this night as a couples meeting But some of the chaps thought it was unfair so we will not be doing this in an open forum again.
Sorry for any confusion

should maybe have been a bit more specific on your opening post then. People will generally see a 'social' as something anyone can attend, couple, guys, gals et.
no issue with posting a couples only party - just make sure you are clear from the beginning |
