Obviously google is your friend but with me been the helpful type here goes.
You have Birmingham Dogs Home in Birmingham from here you should be able to pick up a dog quite cheap.
I have it on good authority that there is a bargain pet stall in Tipton market.
Been in your position your mate can chip in on the cost so bonus.
