Polish and Foreign people...

Hi Guys

Why is it that people judge based on origin/place of birth. We were messaging a single female, exchanged pictures and numbers. We started messaging and she identified that we have different names (clearly I'm Asian therefore don't have an English name and he is Caucasian), this was not an issue. She asked me about the origins of my partner. When I replied he was 1/2 SPANISH 1/2 POLISH, instant BLOCK!!

She even claimed she wasn't being rude? He has resided in this country for many years and speaks perfect English (even adopted the Brummy accent lol).

Can I have your views on why being Polish is such a big issue for some people?

I've been to Poland numerous times and absolutely loved it and the culture.

Can't understand why Polish people are being discriminated against.

Would love to hear your views!!

Personally race or culture should not and would not come into question with us but that's just us narrow minded springs to mind chin-up they not worth it xx

How is this any different from you discriminating against black and Asian men as stated in your profile? You don't want to meet blacks/Asians, they didn't want to meet polish/Spanish? Saves a lot if time

The difference is that if I stated I like black men, started speaking to a particular individual and ready to meet them...then asked are you from Nigeria? and blocked them, it's not to do with their skin colour but "Where they are from"

The difference is she stated she is into "Caucasian men", there was no mention of "English born only". From this you would gather there would be no issues.

As soon as Spanish/Polish are mentioned (bearing in mind Mr is Caucasian and within her specified preference)...blocked.

This is the difference between preference and ignorance.

Just because I'm not into Black or Asian men, I'm not ignorant or racist. I have many black and asian friends (male) but it just boils down to the fact that I don't find them attractive. Everyone is entitled to preference and aslong as that is "stated" no issues. How many people "state" they are only looking for a paticular race, e.g BBC ONLY.

I don't see the issue at all.....it doesn't really matter where you come from and yet everyone has their own opinions. Block and move on....plenty more fun times to be had and plenty of people out there to have them with.

As for me personally, he looks ok and you are stunning.....no issues here

I am russian and never had any problems to meet .. u just contact wrong person to meet .. but there are many people who ll love to meet with u lol !! Just forget it and enjoe fun and sex !! Well personally I wouldn't choose to meet someone who's first language wasn't English. For me, it's definitely not just about sex... its about a personality click, craic, banter and playfulness.

I need to have that connection, so even if someone has lived in an English speaking country for quite some time, for the most part, I still prefer a native speaker every time who is more likely to pick up on the nuances in conversation....obviously though there will very exceptions occasionally

Before I am totally lambasted for being racist...I'm not....its just a preference for me...The same as I prefer intelligent, easy going guys who are tall with rugby builds who like to take control in the bedroom. I would be unlikely to ever choose a shorter fella or a blonde guy. This fact doesn't make me prejudiced...It's just who I'm attracted to.

So.....perhaps this is a reason they ceased contact and didn't want to say, for fear of being called racist?????

We all do what makes as happy and what we like .. for some people english isnt 1 st language but they try and learn it .. plus they can speak not only english .. it is mean u ll not exp any other nationalitis if they not speak proper english ??

Perhaps that particular person has previously had bad experiences with people of a particular origin and doesn't want to take the chance on it happening again? It doesn't necessarily make it right but it may give an insight into why.

Well I've only met one guy off the site for fun. I admit I'm a very very very fussy cow. Tbh I've never been asked by asked non English native speaker.. I'm not saying I never would...I'm just saying it's a preference for me....There has to be a cerebral connection for me. Also I would never meet someone who peppers every sentence with expletives..just not my thing!

Well I was born in England but I speak other languages. Other half speaks perfect English, better than those who live here. Does that make us less able have a conversation or maintain a connection.

When I first met other half I had no idea he wasn't English until we started speaking indepth, this didn't detract me from him. The fact he was well educated, intellectually stimulating, well mannered and very playful hit the spot for me.

People on here say "Oh it's about language and personality", now it seems like a dating site. Are people looking to fuck or find someone to take home to their Mum?

If that is the case then my other half has had ALOT of bad experiences and if he decided to not take another chance we wouldn't be on this site. He never judges anyone based on where they're from. Everyone is different and has their own qualities, it's all broadening horizons. We were both messaging her and she wasn't able to tell the difference between me or o/h's communication - what does that say?

. Fab has a very wide variety of members and the failure to arrange a meet may have nothing to do with being Polish. If people cease corresponding with me , I never bother about the reasons , I just move on to more suitable members.

It says she doesn't want to meet you...it's really that simple. While it may be wrong, your feelings about it clearly don't matter to her. She has voted with her block button for whatever reason it may be. I'm afraid that if you're looking to change people's minds or the inequalities and unfairness in society in general through an Internet site where people look to have casual sex with strangers, then you'll end up having a frustrating and unhappy time...reasoned and rational arguments such as the ones you're putting across cut no ice in what is essentially a shallow pursuit of largely transient encounters...it's not her loss, because she isn't having sex with people she doesn't want to meet for whatever reason, and it's not your loss either if you now go on to concentrate on the people who do want to meet you

You are in a very frustrating situation..maybe not down to people being racist..but just indifference?having served in the forces and living in Germany and Holland..being treated as an 'outsider'can and is very upsetting.There is no surefire remedy,but you soon learn who your friends are.All I can say for sure is.....THEIR LOSS!sorry xx

Sometimes this can happen because certain groups have strong active communities, Poles being one such group. Maybe she is dating or has dated a vanilla Pole.

I've seen it were ladies who belong to certain groups will not meet guys from there own community so i don't think its discrimination just forward thinking.

There are those on here who will not meet people from there local area so that they will not bump into them in the future which is the same kind of principle.

It's sad but some people can be really shallow. I understand the lack of attraction to a race but to discriminate based on nationality is pretty lame. I really don't give a fuck about such people. I have a block list longer than a donkey's dick. Any such nonsense they can fuck off. This is supposed to be fun. Can't be made emotional by stupid people. I love all races and only discriminate against rude or timewasters ...

Unfortunately is the lack of compassion and education that these people have that cause them to hate other people, I've experienced it being a second gen pole, experienced it in school, work and public. And the ironic thing is..... If they had to look into the history of their country (Scotland in my case) the would find deep historical ties between Scotland and Poland, which date back to the 16th centuary

Either you can't read or I need to go to Specsavers. Firstly when did I mention she was racist? Rightly so I don't know what experiences she's had, but there's no need to be rude. When I receive messages I reply to everyone and if they don't tickle my fancy I don't block them. It's common courtesy. I never told her what she should or shouldn't do. We agreed on travel travel arrangements, if we had traveled quite a distance and she then said sorry but I don't do "Polish/Spanish" would you consider that ok, because she "may" have had a bad experience? How would you feel?

Atleast we put it in our profile, best to be upfront and honest - not hypocritical. We removed it as people clearly don't take note of preferences anyway...so what's the point! If you actually read the posts you would understand.

you have preferances just like anyone else, but moaning when someone isn't interested in you due to race or nationality, when you had it in your profile about not meeting folk of certain backgrounds does make you look a bit hypocritical

A couple who will not meet black or Asian complain because someone else won't meet Polish (their perception at least).

Clearly you have problems understanding or your thought process is different. The whole post was based on a woman who was looking for a "CAUCASIAN" man and didn't specify what "NATIONALITY". We agreed to meet and planned travel arrangements. Further down the line she asked what my partners "NATIONALITY/ORIGIN" IS. When we stated 1/2 POLISH 1/2 SPANISH she ceased contact and blocked us. If she said she is looking for "CAUCASIAN" but "ENGLISH ONLY" we wouldn't have replied to her initial message and advised we do not fit "HER PREFERENCES" and wish her all the best - rant over.

Admin should delete this post?!?! You were never obliged to follow or post of you weren't interested. Maybe you'd like to comment on posta about men getting frills from shitting and spunking in nappies and sniffing dirty/used pants. There's something for everyone, we're not judgmental or troll their posts, so of you don't like then fine, don't join in.

Still, you won't meet anyone of certain ethnic origin so why do you even have an issue with her not wanting to meet you , why even post about it unless it annoyed you? its pretty simple for anyone reading this thread to see that you think she has a problem with certain nationalities, yet you don't see any correlation with your preferences? Strange indeed, maybe its the rejection itself that is the most irritating to you.

There was no rejection initially, even after swapping pics and talking. It's not the rejection that irritates us. Clearly she blocked us soon after she asked about his nationality and origin. It's the way she went about it. We know everone has preference but on here it seems very few know the DIFFERENCE between "PREFERENCE" and "IGNORANCE".

Yes they did, very prominent in capitals, no Asians or blacks. It disappeared shortly after I pointed out that this was a tad hypocritical after being so upset because someone blocked them after they found out about their ethnic origin.

Excuse me, but shortly after YOU pointed it out?? Oh please. We changed it because certain idiots don't have the brain capacity. I took out that I'm not interested in black or asian men. I'm interested in Caucasian but it makes no difference if they're Scottish, Welsh, Polish, French or German - understand that that this is a Nationality!!. People just want to jump on the band wagon with pointless comments. Seriously some of you need to go back to school and be re-educated on the difference between Nationality and Race...there's a huge difference. Someone can look caucasian and be an African national BUT shouldn't be discriminated on the basis of WHERE they are from. Many don't even understand that geographically Britain is in EUROPE. Technically we are European. I can't be bothered to reply to individuals with a brain the size of a peanut. If you've got something to say make sure it's constructive...otherwise you're just wasting your time.

Someone blocked us after they found out our ethnic origin? Hmm, really? If you had actually read anything at all, she blocked us after she found out about Mr's nationality...initially the fact he was caucasian was perfectly finr. Clearly states on our profile I'm Asian and other half is Caucasian. So I think you need to look very carefully. We DIDN'T say "No Asians or Blacks"...

it said "Not interest in asian or black males" we would never have worded it as ignorantly as you have.

was it removed because they saw that others would in fact see it as hypocritical....

its a interest thing seeing someone trying to argue out of both sides of their mouths....

How is omitting the word males ignorant??

Any way I used the word ethnic which is defined as : of or relating to large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural origin or background.

And you were quick to bandy words around - Caucasian', 'nationality' etc but I can tell you all you know about racial taxonomy can be written on the back of a postage stamp, from the foregoing.

The last time I checked, we're still on a swinging site and not the Equality and Human Rights Commission. If you have preferences and someone rejected you based on their own preference, man up. As she didn't tell you why, no one else can - whatever you hear now is educated guesses or speculations. I'd put it down to preferences. It doesn't call for sympathy or empathy. By the way, your profile was more honest with the bit about black and Asian men. You can't just take it off like that because people pointed out your self evident double standards. Right guys it`s male half now let me tell you it`s gone out of hand here. I wasn`t aware of all this forum bullshit as it`s not my thing to cry about myself, It never bothered me, obviously my gf got offended more then me which I find funny.I personally like all races and origins but accept people have preferences so you should!

I took it off our profile myself as we no longer looking for MF without knowing about all this accusations on this funny forum, please stop posting on this topic and if anyone knows how to DELETE it please let me know because its childish and leading nowhere.
