Has anyone been to one of their parties?
We are planning on going to the valentines ball on 13th Feb, and were slightly concerned about the dress code, and just looking for feedback generally.
Any help would be much appreciated! |

You CANNOT get into a Torture Gardens event wearing smart clothing, I too attend on occasion and they have a STRICT dress code.
Turn up in everyday wear and you will be refused entry and you will not get a refund on your ticket.
Fetish wear (rubber, leather, pvc etc), uniforms, fantasy wear etc etc.
But NEVER street clothing |

This is the official TG dress code;
'The TG dress code strives to avoid narrow limitations and encourage individual imagination and diversity. A modern fetish club is like an adult fancy dress party and is more about fantasy and transformation than just rubber and leather. Also, many of the best outfits seen at TG are made by those wearing them or assembled from various second hand articles (i.e.: theatrical costume or uniforms). So if you can't afford expensive rubber or leather costumes then explore personal fantasies and use your imagination, or even try body paint! Please always remember that if your outfit wouldn't turn heads in the street - don't bother to wear it to Torture Garden. Also, many of those attending bring their outfit in a bag and get changed within the club.'

I went to the one in Brixton a couple of years ago...was quite a good night and left around 5am.
Lots of rooms and different music types, friendly people and quite relaxed.

Woops, left out the bit about dress-code!
...quite a mixed bag but "anything goes that stands out" if i'm honest. I wore black jeans, a mesh top and a sort of armour style jacket/coat. Went down a treat and seemed like a popular choice.
Just avoid "high street clothing". |

Would say from experience that it was in all likelyhood the jacket that got you in, they like to see that people have made an effort and you are right about street clothing....have lost count of the times that I have seen people turned away from TG, Club Rub and Westward Bound for falling foul of the dress code.

I went to their Halloween Ball in '09, and they have a very very strict dress code. My girlfriend and I were fine, we went with P.V.C. nurses uniforms. Was a nightmare trying to find something for her husband to wear though.
You can change at the club, but be prepared to have security going through your bag to make sure you have a costume, or they will just refuse to let you in.
Once in there though, it is a cracking night out.
When I went, there was a gorgeous woman walking around wearing nothing but an anal jewel. And a guy wearing a nappy, carrying a teddy, whilst sucking his dummy. Go ahead push some boundaries!!! |

" Go ahead push some boundaries!!! "
We intend to! It is merely a question of whether Jill wears the Westward Bound Latex, or the Absolute Danny leather dress...
Many thanks for your replies and help. |
