Hey everyone,

We are travelling to Birmingham in November and are hoping to go to either club on Friday 24th.

What are the main differences with these two clubs? Do either need to be contacted in advance, what are peoples thoughts and/or recommendations?

We’ve only ever been to Xtasia, its like a night club with rooms off to the side for people to have fun in.

We feel we would have been intimidated with the towel or underwear side of things on our first visit to a club, which I believe is chams.

Thank you! That's really helpful... Xtasia sounds like the perfect way to dip our toe into the uk clubs

We have been to Xtasia a few times now and thoroughly enjoy it. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the themed nights are always fun. The club is centred around a main dance floor. This gives it a much more nightclub feel. There are a couple of dungeons as well as half a dozen play rooms. The best thing about this club is there is no strict dress down code, You can keep as much on as you like and take it off when you’re comfortable. This makes it great for newcomers to the scene like we were when we first visited.

Chams we visited for the first time yesterday, it was excellent! The dress code is towels for men and lingerie for women. While this sounded a bit intimidating when we were first getting into the swinging scene, it couldn’t be more natural now. The club has much more of a spa feel with hot tubs, sauna and steam room. While there is a small dance floor off in a side room the music doesn’t travel through the whole club. The place is an absolute maze set over four floors. There are plenty of different places to play in. The best thing we found about Chams is the little seating areas dotted around the corridors. They made great talking places to get to know other people.

We would recommend both clubs it depends on what you are looking for.

Xtasia is good but we find it more of a nightclub vibe to it, plus the men are dressed. Chams feels a lot more sexy with more play places, men wear towels too so it’s better from a man’s point of view.

We would recommend chams, you can stay there too, we stay overnight there when we go.

Chams would be our choice of the two. We have done both several times and on different nights to try and get an overall feel for them. The dress down really isn’t as bad as you think it would be. People of all shapes and sizes just loving life, plus you bring your own drinks so can save a fortune (assuming you drink that is) Lots of different themed rooms over several floors. Stay on site or some good value hotels near by. Happy to answer any other questions if you have them.

West Bromwich

Change the "Vs" to "and" and do both over a weekend. Make up your own minds on what works for you, as both very different.
