Blackpool mobile phone signal

Slightly weird request. Every time we visit the clubs in Blackpool, we end up with no usable data signal on our phones all weekend. We are on O2, and literally from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave, even though our phones show 4 bars (full signal) the data is unusable. Occasionally in the dead of night 3am-7am, we will get a bit, but that's it. Went to the O2 shop and they agreed that the network is just over capacity.

So our question is simple - do other people have the same issue, and do people have alternative networks (that they have experience of using in Blackpool) and could recommend?

We've just got home from a weekend in Blackpool and found the 4g signal VERY hit & miss - we're on Tesco mobile - sometimes had to log on to hotel or pub wifi to get online.

"we're on Tesco mobile"

Yeah, Tesco and GiffGaff both piggyback off O2's network.

Hi, I had same problem last weekend I went. I’m on O2. I lowered my phone off left it for a minute then powered it on this cleared the fault.

But did this on the way home.

I've been to Blackpool on many occasions.

Never had a mobile signal problem myself. But whenever I pay for my hotel by chip and pin, it takes forever. The guy in the Trades Hotel last time I was up, said the WIFI was awful in the town.

The o2 network is rubbish..lots piggyback off it too..Southport is the same..no signal or data too..I've switched over to Smarty, (pay as you go)they use the EE network...I'm getting data and signal everywhere now..

EE is the best network, I get a solid signal from Blackpool to the Pointer Roundabout
