Anybody know of any decent hotels where someone could easily get through reception to join us

Motel 1 in Piccadilly is good.

No key cards for lift and if you come in the secondary entrance on London Road you don't pass reception either.

Stay City Apartments in the Northern Quarter is excellent for access and value

Why don't you just meet them in the hotel bar or a bar close and escort them in?
