I have recently started making chainmail item's of clothing. Bra's, skirt, Tops ect. wondering peoples views and also hoping to find ladies who may be interested in wearing the items for an indoor photoshoot as display models for my catalogue to display how items look on various sized ladies |

Using 1.8mm Aluminium wire and butted. Mainly 8mm inner diameter. When I started I was looking at steel but then the rust issues put me off. Did my 1st pieces in 1.6mm galvanised steel wire. Then switched to aluminium because its lighter and I tumble it. |

I started in December with it. Kinda batted with the (it's too expensive side of my brain). The real issue is time consumed by a project and it isn't really viable to charge definitely over £500 for one. A basic bra takes easily over 10 hours and 850 ish rings. Skirt would be several thousand rings  |

ive seen videos of people hitting it with things and it is broken ect. I don't think we can ever know though. I mean a car is smashed up after a crash but the people inside where fine. Think no matter what the attack the person was safer in it then without.In many ways like leathers for a motor bike. They help with stuff but if you crash at any sort of speed, your not gunna be in a great condition.
weight obviously depends on material, ring AR and the weave (as does strength) although strength would depend more on butted, riveted or welded |

Dave's maille skirt - authentic flat ring riveted - looks very moth eaten from being hit. The protection it gives is minimal, but it helps protect the padding it covers, which many experts believe was its original purpose. |
