"Over in that area myself in a few days and have heard that Holkham beach is supposed to be lovely- no idea how to find the naturist part though, have also heard it’s a long beach! "
1.5 miles from the nearest carpark.
It isn't a nudist beach, it is a "clothing optional" beach.
used to be a great place, with loads of action in the dunes.
The dunes are now patrolled. The beach is still 'open' for no-clothes though! if you look on google maps, searching for 'Holkham beach', the 'clothing optional' part is to the left of the text saying 'Holkham beach' !
It's a nice walk though, especially if you avoid walking along the beach but instead walk along the path along the treeline. Then turn right by the bird-hide to the beach and turn left... |

Hi Holkham was closed few years ago because of "activity" in the dunes behind the beach,it is now reopened BUT only Naturism allowed on the Beach not in the dunes its is Patrolled by "wardens" and actively policed so be aware |

The wardens are employed by both the Holkham estate and Natural England. Police courtesy of quad bikes. The Dune Meerkats seem to have become extinct. |

Seen people do that.
The sand is quite fine there, and the wind tends to sandblast your legs...
Most prefer a bit further out, on the sea side of the "shell line" (you'll see what I mean, and feel it) the sand is better. Fewer people out there as well. The distance between full-tide and low tide is about a mile. Tripadvisor has loads of pictures of Holkham Bay |
