Depending what kind of night out you want then you might not like any of those abovesuggestions, I personally wouldn't but obviously everyone likes different things. I like independent music and bars so the northern quarter, right by your hotel, is my favourite area to spend my time. The northern quarter is very different to anywhere mentioned above so it might not be your thing but it's much more relaxed, you don't dress up for a night out round there etc.
Enjoy your stay wherever you end up!
