Having read an article in a daily failure newspaper, about some pop star buying the pleasure beach.
It became apparent that Blackpool is trying to go family friendly. There will only be one sex shop allowed to trade in Blackpool.
And lap dancing clubs will not have their licences renewed if for any reason the licence is revoked or lapses. Although timely renewals will be renewed.
New licences will be looked at, but very unlikely to be granted.
This is apparently due to complaints from the public, and an element that causes problems.
Is there any truth to this, or is it just fake news? |

I don't believe for one second that the suggested pop star is buying the pleasure Beach, I can't see the family who owns it selling it to be honest.
That being said there is an awful lot of regeneration work happening at the moment in Blackpool, it appears investment is being pumped in to the town which can only be good for its long term future |

Regeneration work is definitely needed!
Time to shake off it's 70's kiss me quick hat image and aim for a more up market business model if it wants to survive.
Newer generations are leaning towards more up market eating and drinking experiences, better places to stay and away from the stag and hen culture.
Always have a soft spot for Blackpool but it's time it had a wash and stuck some new clothing on... |

There is a move nationally to reduce lap dancing clubs. I don't know if Blackpool has moved that way or not. The recent death of the woman in London is going to help to shape how our culture and its treatment of women progresses, in my opinion. |

Wow, 'the death of the woman in London'. Sarah Everard didn't trip and break her neck or die in a car accident you know, she was murdered by a vile human being. I hope you didn't meant such a throw away comment to describe the needless murder of an innocent woman |

I think so many have fond memories of Blackpool for what ever reasons. Day trips as kids, stag nights or dirty weekends. Whatever it is, I hope, as for many seaside towns, its fortunes see a turnaround and things start to look up after the pandemic. |

Blackpool was meant to be getting a full on investment to build a “vegas” style casino resort, regenerate and rebuild the prom and refresh the excitement.. i think it was about 15-20 yrs ago! Locals said no because too many of them have no money and gambling is addictive, or so i believe and happy to be corrected!!
It could be such a great attraction, Disney land, vegas mixup.. but if the locals and Gov won’t back it, who would invest in a ghost town...
I’m not knocking btw, I loved Blackpool as a kid, as a early 20’s “piss up and pull” destination and later as a weekend away and swinging destination!!
I’d genuinely love to see more up market “stay-cation” accommodation and all the tired seafront hotels get refurbed and less OAP centric!!
Some beautiful hotels just left to ruin or run by big corps who don’t seem to care if they are all grotty and run down!!
Just my 2p for what it’s worth!! |

Blairs government came up with the vegas idea. And bids were put in to have it.. Manchester won the bid.
Then Blair handed over to Brown and the whole scheme was dropped as hes was devoted Christian..
The pop star wants to buy blackpool pleasure but the Thompsons who have owned it forever will never sell it.
The town is undergoing huge regeneration and investmemt and is literally changing before oir eyes. And an American company now has planning permission to build a huge entertainment complex in the central area of the town.
Its all good for the town an the people who live here. The lapdancing clubs they talk of are the tacky ones on the prom around the tower. I wouldn't worry about any swingers clubs they won't be included.

I genuinely hope it gets the injection of funding needed... now more than ever the “stay-cation” industry needs to step up and move peoples view of it from a tired old caravan or grotty b&b and more to plush hotels with entertainment for adults and kids!! A 21st Century revival!!
Here’s hoping!! |

Blackpool once was a great place plenty of things to do during the day a great nightlife with over 60 nightclubs and bars.but unfortunately the place is being left to rot all holiday makers see is the promenade which looks lovely from star gate to north pier but behind that it's an eye saw boarded up buildings some buildings falling down.our clowncil would rather spend all the money on the promenade and build stupid rail tracks ( which most people in blackpool don't want) they are cutting down on strip joints and massage parlours cause all this lot want is families.I will always love blackpool it's my home but I'm sorry to say it's no where near as good as it was. |

Blackpool needs major investment to bring tourism and advertising it’s open for family friendly places. I was a regular visitor due to family there. The Airport needs to back doing Dublin flights again. I love the two clubs there. I hope it gets a major face lift. |

It used to be a great place for a family holiday. Last time I was there was in July a few years ago. It was only for one night. It was raining, miserable and hardly a soul to be seen. It used to be full of Glaswegians during the Glasgow Fair holidays.
I’m not sure how these resorts should be marketed but it certainly could do with a lick of paint to freshen it up.

Or last visit was new year's eve 2019-20
We went to the nye party at ClubSX (now Club Play), the weather was fabulous and we had an amazing time.
Yes away from the prom some areas do look tired/neglected, but no more so than anywhere else we've been.
Really hoping we can get back to Blackpool this year & check out the changes at both clubs. |

Blackpool is shit now. I went there just before covid hit everything. When I was 23 I went there and had a threesome, when I was 26 I fucked a stripper there lol. Went there just before this, the strip clubs were run don, the clubs in general were run down. anything adult wise was just shit. it's basically just a family beach now and has lost the "appeal" it had a few years ago for adult entertainment. |

Blackpool, At The Crack Of Dawn!! |
"Looking forward to get back to Blackpool especially the new Clubplay. It looks amazing "
Aww... Thank you
We have worked so hard on the changes and updates and can't wait to welcome everyone back xxx
As for the changes in Blackpool itself, there is an attempt with some major investments in the town to update it & make it more family friendly. The strip clubs and spars around the tower itself seem to be the councils targets from our understanding trying to make those areas more family friendly, this does NOT included our club.
We welcome any investment in Blackpool and doing our part with the renovations of our little Club xxx |

Surely part of Blackpools appeal is the "kiss me quick" cheeky style. Went as a kid and later with my wife and loved it. Looking forward to going again when allowed.
Personally I think if an image change happened it would be detrimental to the town and economy as would drive away the people who enjoy a wonderful town |
