We are thinking of having a week in the maldives in one of thise pods on stilts in the sea. Weve heard that as a muslim country you have to bre quite modest and no topless or nude sunbathing.
Anyone gove us some guidance in this respect..is it the same in a reaort or can the girks at least wear a bikini or at leadt go topless! |

When I was last there topless was not allowed. To the extent one guest was reprimanded very loudly and publicly when she took her top off which was a shame as she had great tits lol |

There are local islands and there are resort islands. Local islands have strict dress codes, no alcohol or pork . They mainly have guest houses and budget hotels.
Resort islands is where 90% of tourists go. You can basically wear whatever you want. In public areas, at meal times, ( breakfast/ lunch) you can wear bikinis but with cover up attire. Most men woukd Don shorts t short for those meals and dress shirts and short sleeve shirt for dinner. Around pool/ beach, any types of bikini/ beacheware is fine but no full nudity. In a water villa, if it’s not overlooked, I know that people have sunbathed in their deck naked and also naked in hot tub. But only if you are not overlooked . Just common sense really |
