I've been to Hong Kong. I would recommend going up to see the giant Buddha statue and monastery that are on the same grounds. Depending on what part your staying on it's probably worth taking a ferry across and exploring the cultural museum, main park and the night market (kowloon side). I went a few years ago but hopefully this is something that you can take a look at and decide if your interested |

That's good. I was also there for the new year. It's very busy on the streets in the evening so try to be where you want to stay by the early evening. Public transport has reduced prices around the new year and the fireworks display they have in the waterway between Kowloon and Centralis amazing. If possible I'd recommend you watch it from the harbourside |
