We are looking to book a trip to the Maldives but so many islands and so much choice.
We like Adult only resorts and is topless sun bathing an issue?
Would love to hear from fabbers that have been or due to visit in February. Trying to gather as much info we can |

No topless bathing unless you get a villa with a private beach at a resort like Dhonakulhi but it’s very pricey. You can bath topless if you have a water villa as long as you are discreet |

As others have rightly put, strictly no topless bathing but you could possibly get away with it on a secluded water villa, but I would still be very careful. Only one truly fully adult only resort as far as we are away with a couple of others that have adult only sections, sadly not looking to visit until June next year. |

Aside from the topless factor...if you like snokelling then look for a resort with a good house reef (some of the best snokelling you'll ever do) - we also tend to pick the resorts that require a seaplane (rather than speedboat) transfer - because that just adds to the adventure! If you like a pool - not all resorts have one..
Water bungalows look pretty in the pictures..but the decking to walk to and fro gets extreemly hot (although they do but out water barrels on the way to cool with!)..but we like the cheaper beach villas - often effectively have your own little bit of beach in front of your terrace..try to get one west facing//sunsets

Spot on re the beach villas being the best, usually the water villas are where it’s not the best for swimming.
Did you decide on a resort yet OP? |

We have noticed some discreet topless bathing on the bigger islands though almost always outside individual villas where staff are unlikely to be. It really isn’t the done thing.dont let it out you off going, the scenery especially under water is like nothing you will ever experience anywhere else.
Like others have said we would always go for a cheaper room and look out for a good house reef. You will spend so little time in your room anyway it’s just not worth an upgrade. All inclusive is a good call too if you like a drink cos booze can be pricey!!!! |

"All booked for June 2020, anyone else planning a trip to paradise?
Which resort did you go with?
Sent you PM"
We didn’t make it in 2020 for obv reasons.
Booked Dhigali for Jan2022 and hoping the travel restrictions stay away this time |
