Lots of things to do. Beer is cheaper on the outskirts of vaclavski namesti (wenceslas square) where it all happens.
Go see the clock and castle and also the jewish quarter. Trams are reliable and frequent as is the underground but always buy a ticket from a newsagent as they do check and fine foreigners at stations and on the trams.
When seeing the clock be street wise, as its rife with pickpockets as is the whole of prague though but the police presence has been 'upped' over the years.
If you like cheese, try Pickled Hermelin (Camembert marinated in oil, onions, peppers and a shed load of garlic) served with bread and is a typical beer snack.
Lots of good food to try and navigation is fairly easy if you can get your hands on a 3D type map from the street vendors (worth the extra)
Dont forget to pay a visit to Charles bridge where they filmed Mission impossible which is lined with portrait artists and souvenir stalls.
Also try a 'Klobasa' from the food vans. Its a dark red and spicy sausage like a hot dog.
I can recommend a good place to stay where we've always stayed, ideal for trams and opposite a 24hr bar with a cheap price. Plus its only 2 stops away from wenceslas square.
Enjoy. |
