Thought I'd start a thread and see if my friend can find it

I love different languages and cultures.. so my question is, what language can you speak? Is it your mother tongue? Can you speak more languages? Where in the world are you from and what made you learn chosen language?

I'll start, I speak English, some French and Finnish. French was mandatory as I think it is in most schools and I started learning Finnish when I was 12.

English, but a little french, german and spanish too. Not enough to get by sadly.
