"What's the difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
They don't get The Flintstones on TV in Dubai, but Abu Dhabi do. "
They are both Emirates, of the united Emirates. But they are self governing, which is why some laws are different |

Brilliant!
Well in dubai, you might not get arrested for wearing a string bikini on the beach. In Abu Dhabi it will be a short holiday!
It's a bit more conservative than dubai, and in some ways nicer

Spiritsonfab, why would someone have to pay you lots of money to go to either? have you every been to either, it would seem you have no idea whats these places have to offer. |

"Spiritsonfab, why would someone have to pay you lots of money to go to either? have you every been to either, it would seem you have no idea whats these places have to offer." It's purely guessing, and I could be totally wrong, but visiting a non-secularized country where us Westerners have to live in secure, gated compounds with private security guards is a bit worrying.

LOL the UAE is one of the most secure places around here, gated communities with security again its a myth may be in down town Bahgdad you might but not here. security is to keep riff raft out, and you can live anywhere you like really. the place is one of the 10 ten safest cities in the world. |

Dubai is more relaxed I would be abit wary of Abu Dhabi , u can find all sorts of places in Dubai table dancing , prozzies etc it's quite common but in Abu Dhabi they are very strict |

Let me make this simple for all you people who have never stepped foot in the UAE (Thats where Abu Dhabi and Dubai are located). It is not an extremist country! It is by far the safest I have ever felt in my life. The people in general are very helpful, honest and civil human beings.
There is more drinking done here than in most countries in the world (http://www.arabianbusiness.com/uae-drinkers-consume-almost-double-global-alcohol-average-550467.html#.V0WaE2OmqlI)
If prostitutes are your thing then you can pick them up at any bar.
People need to shut up about how restrictive the Middle East is. Yes, I admit, it is against the law to make out in bar and in public but that is something people moving out here know and accept. Just save all the intimacy for the bedroom.
I have been on Fab for 5 years and in the Middle East for 3. I have had more fun out here than i ever had living in the UK where there is an abundance of swinger parties and meet-ups.
So before someone starts mouthing off about a country you've never experienced...do your research! |

I currently live in Hong Kong snd undoubtedly will miss the free living that we have here, being able to drink in public areas cheaply and easily (which are used a lot) but having been to Dubai several times (5 in the past year) I can honestly say, I have a lot more 'intimate' fun than I've ever had in the three and a half years of living on Hong Kong.
Purely and simply....Dubai is a whole lot of fun, just common sense and courtesy to their laws and cultural expectations.
Scratch beneath the surface .. It's all going on!
20th June, bye bye HK, hello UAE, playful 1 will look forward to getting into the swing of things! |
