"Hi
As a couple any thoughts on going to cap or gran canaria
We have been to gc had a great time but is it better at cap ?"
Different. Completely different. Both great but Cap is an experience all to itself. Nothing on the planet can compare to Cap in the height of the season.
We have been to GC already this year and back again September but we would not miss cap in the Summer |

We will let you know our thoughts after next week...
Have been going to GC for years now ( 2 or 3 times a year at that ) .... But everyone we have met in GC have told us that we must try Cap... So as of Saturday that is where we will be for a week.
We do realise it is just before the main season starts but will be a good introduction for us...
The only reason we have not really tried Cap before is the relatively short season does not generally fit with our available holidays... Already got 10 days in GC booked for November as well mind... |

You should try a "taster" weekend and see for yourself. With regards to being expensive it need not be. For example 3 course meal 13.90€ = £10 good value? 0.5ltr of wine 5-7€ not bad. Spirits can be damaging on your pocket. Clubs 20€ for a Cpl, some 60€ but you have a choice. Beer is reasonable too. Essentials are ok, but if you want to party all night then like anywhere you can blow a lot if cash. In the end its up to the individual to be responsible for their spending. Oh accommodation varies in standard from crap to wow. But you can get a nice place for less than a premier inn in the UK. |

Having just returned from a fantastic week in La Mirage GC and part time residents of Le Cap for over 10 years here are our thoughts.
GC for all year sun cheap prices but for the Le Cap lifestyle experience there is only one Cap from June to September it is the unique hedonistic fun centre. Out of season head to GC.
Sure Le Cap can be expensive but it certainly doesn't have to be if you are sensible. |

Agree completely with this post but from our point of view we would only ever go to Cap in the height of the season when the foam parties and pool parties are on. Been in June, September and October previously as second (third once) visit and found it grim. No comparison whatsoever to July and August. |

"Thanks for all the replies but could you elaborate a bit why is it better or is it just a matter of choice
Xx"
As a single guy, it will be very different for you anyway. There are lots of single guys in Cap and the difference between GC and Cap is that in GC you can go naked only on the beach and dunes. In Cap, you go naked everywhere, even shopping.
As a single guy, the main attractions in GC (La Mirage) and in Cap (Pool and foam parties) you will be excluded from. There are Clubs in both places that accept single guys but you won't want to be paying the prices they charge every night. |

We've been to GC once and stayed at La Mirage which we really enjoyed, and outside of the main season we would certainly go back.
However from late June to the end of August it just has to be Cap, Cap, and Cap.
If there is another bar in the world like the Melrose we have yet to find it. The foam party's are unique and you will never find another beach like the "Pigs beach" That is before we get on to the swinger clubs, sauna's, fetish club, sex cinema (god knows who would need that there but hey ho) numerous swinger friendly bars and just the 24/7 naked and/or erotic lifestyle.
Of course GC has a lot to offer but nothing compares to Cap.

As with all things it,s a matter of opinion, we visit Cap 4 to 5 times a year those being Feb, Easter, May, August and October and enjoy each time of the year.
Although the off season is no where near as busy as on season there are still restaurants, bars like minded people around and plenty of fun to be had.
Even blue sky and sunshine although not always hot, still able to return home with a tan.
We tried GC last October and found it OK, but Cap off season kicks it's ass, let alone high season.
I hope you all have a fab time where ever you choose.
BTW, if you are fans of wine & sea food, they have the best in the world in the area, and not expensive.

"For us Cap wins every single time. But it is expensive (captive audience)and the weather can be a little variable (or we were unlucky twice in July!). For for fun......... "
We budget €100 a day in Cap, but we rarely go the the Clubs, just Melrose and one or two bars.
You would not want to do a pub crawl in Cap would you, especially drinking cocktails lol |

We would agree. To anyone who drives down or rents a car it is well worth a drive out to the village of Fitou just down the coast (heading toward Spain)
On the main road just through the village on the right hand side is Domaine Maynadier a really nice winery where you can sample a few drops (hic) and stock up on some really good reds at very reasonable money. |

Alan lynn x" wise move to see for yourself and make an informed opinion. However, it won't be easy to get accommodation for a weekend only as most like 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday. Hotels will be your best bet Oz Inn, Eve, Riad are your best options but it won't be cheap. Good luck. |

Accommodation will be a challenge but it's always worth checking AGN they do any day to any day and sometimes have gaps between lets. A couple of years ago we got 4 nights August Bank Holiday weekend in a deluxe apartment for less than they wanted for the normal 7 day minimum in a basic apartment. Also worth looking at campsite chalets - I don't think their seven day minimum booking requirement has started then (we're booked in to campsite weekend after for three nights).
Hope you have a great time. |

We prefer red in winter, and enjoy a very nice Muscat from Serignan a lovely dry fruity white perfect for summer along with Rose de Bessan |

Google AGN cap d agde. As it is not the very height of the season you may get odd days where they can fit you in. Failing that Hotel Eve or Nature can Spa. Or if you have a bug budget Oz 'Inn. |

"Hi to hot
Thanks will do we never have a holiday budget just do what we want and enjoy
We didn't know the season was so short for cap "
Very high season is July and August. People do like June and September as well because it is less mayhem, warm and still plenty of fun to be had. Your accommodation prices will be less in June and September. |
