Don't think drinks are allowed in Oman, is a Muslim state isn't it?

In most decent hotels its OK. Some Muslim states tolerate westerners drinking discreetly just not like our pub style culture.

You can drink in hotels no problem - but do not get d*unk in public and be careful of the taxi drivers most are ex cops.
