Hilton waterfalls is very nice too..a bit out of Naama bay but they do a courtesy bus. You HAVE got to do a day snorkelling in Ras Mohammed..lots to do in Naama Bay, recommend the Camel bar and the Indian restsurant next door to the bar..if you don't plan to go to outside the Sinai peninsula you won't need s visa...it's bedlam in Sharm airport lol.. Patience is s virtue..only take about £50 of Egyptian pounds..there are cash machines in Sharm where you will get better rates of exchange..I use them all the time with no problems..(12 trips)..do St Catherine's monastery ..it's worth the climb..buy your fav spirit on the plane as branded spirits are mega expensive in the resorts..above all enjoy... |

Take a bag of £1 coins to tip your waiters, room staff etc..a couple of pounds a day will be well worth it for the service you will get...don't be tempted to get a hotel in naama bay..very noisy..out of town is best..and be careful of the blue and White taxis..cheap but you take your life in your hands..lol..enjoy... |

Do not tip with £1 coins!!!!!
They can't exchange them then hassle you to take them and give them notes in return
Tip with $1 notes
Drink plenty of water as it's hot hot hot!!
We stayed in the coral sea aqua club across from the holiday village and it was brill ! Wi fi is crap tho lol
We very rarely went down the strip as it's really hard not to get hassled but always always haggle for a good price

We've never been to Sharm but whenever we go to North Africa or Asia we always take lots of US $1 bills. Of the three major western currency's it is the only one that has a paper unit of one. Coins are rarely (if ever) wanted and the lowest paper denomination in Pounds and Euro's is a fiver.
US dollars are perfect for tipping and we have always found that we can do much better deals on markets and with street vendors when using them. |
