Make sure that anything you book is within the Naturist Quarter, otherwise you are paying every day to get in.

Apartments are widely available, and everything is fairly close together. You could also rent a mobile home or cabin on the Rene Oltra campsite, unless you are taking your own tent/caravan etc.

Then, just have a ball. It's a great place.

Swansea

We went there for about six years, twice a year.

Accommodation can range in quality from ok to quite grubby, don't wish to put you off but we never had anywhere we could call better than decent. Also France is very expensive (Gran Canaria is much cheaper).

That said, we think it is the best adult playground in the world, Le Glamour is a fantastic club, the adult beach is out of this world and walking along the apartments of an evening and sitting in the restaurants makes for fantastic viewing, and if it's what you're looking for you're in for a great time.

Please don't let the initial negativity get in the way, I'm sure you'll love it!

The foam parties in the afternoons is a must. Wow, anything goes but get there early and grab a bed by putting a large towel on it.

Enjoy.

Cap d'Agde is a surreal place of fun. You will love it. It is expensive, but as soon as you get over the fact that you are paying 5 star prices for 3 star accomodation its fun, fun, fun!! It's an adults playground that is unique in the world - that is what you are really paying for. Foam parties are not to be missed as is Glamour and the 2+2 Hammam. Enjoy !!

Cap d'Agde is ugly, expensive, has poor food and much of the accommodation is grotty.

It also has probably the best outdoor group sex in the world.

***BUT not in August***

This is the French school holidays, when it turns into more of a family resort. Leave it until after 1st September.

Our suggestions:

Either, find a friend, maybe on here, who owns their own apartment, and rent from them.

Or, go to a good agent with a reputation to lose - Google "naturist holidays".

That way there's the best chance of getting a reasonably maintained apartment.

One other thing - we think the smaller nightclubs are much better value, with lots of action. The big clubs are EXTREMELY expensive (never buy a drink) and there's a lot of just posing around.

Sure you will have a great time ,even going in to the naturist area each day. When you get to the beach turn Left and walk to far end- swingers end- past cafe on beach, even in August, will be bit of action, although may have to wait until 4ish+ . Make sure you get to Xtasia, the club on the road between Adge and Sete, well worth the trip out. have fun and try to book earlier next year! x

Everyone has an opinion. This is an opinion and not a fact. We have been every year for the last 8 years and have found May, June and September to be too quiet. It may be school holidays but that does not mean kids go to the swingers beach, pubs, bars and clubs that make CDA so unique.

To get the most out of Cap dAgde it is perhaps an idea to go when it is busiest. Our experience is that July and August is far and above the best time to go if you like it busy.

We didn't go last year as we found the Eden and Baylones pool parties to be just as good (if not better) and they are free. The DJ at the pool parties is excellent and when they throw the dry ice bomb into the pool... Well.....

Anyway, from memory the foam party was not that expensive 20/30 euro something like that.

We are going to be in Cap d'Agde from the 18th - 22nd September. Anybody else going to be there at the same time?

We know it is going to be quieter than July & August. Can anybody tell us how quiet is quiet?

I've not been in Sept but the AGN brochure suggests the off season (ie lowest prices) run from 22/9 - 12/5 the following year.

It will certainly be quieter than July/August but it's still OK. Tends to be a slightly older but more sophisticated crowd in Sept.

Best to avoid October though as you'll pretty much be the only ones there (I exaggerate of course).

We've only been once before to Cap d'Agde and that was in August last year. We had a great time of course. Most of the people there seemed 50% french and the rest a mixture of Spanish, German, dutch and Italians with a handful of brits. Is it different in September? What's the mix like in September?

Much the same as August really. There's always been plenty of Brits when we've been, plus the Dutch usually speak every good English. There were even a few Americans there last year, who sort of speak a language resembling English.

We find the best approach is to speak loudly in English and make no attempt at French (even though Mrs L is fluent) so the other Brits can find you.... plus it annoys the "cheese-eating surrender monkeys"!

Everybody is an individual, with their own opinions. We have had ppl who loved the place others said it's " tacky" " a flea market" but the only way to make your own rationale is visit. The cap can be as cheap as you like or as expensive, depends what your prepared to pay. On the quarter, you have seen the comments above. But do consider off the quarter. You will Save a considerable sum. Food - well 10 mins drive - Michelin 2* restaurant from 45€ not bad! Visit and see for yourselves. If you hate it don't come back - simples

We love Cap. As for food, we love our food and have always eaten well even at Cap. The steaks at QJ are fantastic, cooked perfectly just as we asked them to. Seafood buffet at Waikiki is also very good and in our opinion also good value. We also found a fishmonger by the marina that served oysters and cold seafood which you picked from his display and they then arrange it on a boat type dish. They have tables outside where we enjoyed the seafood feast with wine and bread. Was also very good value and fantastically fresh. The restaurant of Glamour is also good. Sometimes for a lunchtime snack we bought a rotisserie chicken and fresh bread from the bakery. There was a good selection of veg and fresh fruit at the stores there. Like everywhere else some places are better than others to eat - you need to sniff out the better places to eat. If you love your food its not too hard.
