Benidorm tourist tips wanted!

We're staying in Benidorm old town for a week 30 April - 6 May. Looking for suggestions of where to go and what to do. Are there any swinging clubs or bars? Adult entertainment? Nudist beaches? Also looking for cultural places to visit (can't spend the whole holiday thinking about sex!), good bars, restaurants etc. All tips and suggestions welcome  |

The nudist beach is small,rocky and sometimes there's quite a lot of gays, but give it a go - you never know!
The late night sex shows in various bars are great, and mostly free as long as you buy a drink.
We'll be there May 20th and love the place. |

Swinging clubs/bars, none.
Adult entertainment, Sticky Vicky, and her daughter.
Nudist beaches. There are a couple but they are quite a long way from the old town, one is behind the old casino on the old road to Villajoyosa, not so much of a beach as a pebble cove, and without a car forget it. The other is around the headland at the "rincon" end of town, get off the bus at the far end of Avda Mediterraneo and then walk up and over the headland. It's quite a long walk and it's many years since I last visited it, so can't really say what it's like now.
Culture ???  We are talking Benidorm here 
For restaurants you should be OK. Calle San Miguel in the old town has some superb ones, or try the Tapas feast in La Cava Aragonesa through the little arcade at the end of the street.
It depends on what kind of bars you like. For British entertainment bars there are quite a lot on and around Calle Gerona at the Levante end of town. Stardust and the Western Saloon being two of the better ones, and Cafe Benidorm, opposite the Hotel Orange can be good later on. We also like Heartbreak Hotel on the Levante promenade for live entertainment in the late afternoons/early evenings.

we are there 6th - 9th may , there is a sex cinema in old town which we are going to visit , it does have a lot of gays there but also a few single men so it should be ok , the late night sex shows in the benidorm bars aren't something you can join in with ,they are there to be watched only .. we are also hoping to take in the nudist beach(fingers crossed)  |

just googled where the nudist beach is near benidorm , don't think we will be going there unless someone is going to drive us as it looks miles away from the main road so we certainly won't be able to get a taxi back  |

The one just past La Cala is not only a long way from the main road, but the bit you don't see on google is how steep the road down to the beach is.
We know of the Montiboli beach but never been on it.
For access without a car the best (of a bad bunch) one is at the far end of the Levante beach, go up the road over the headland and you will find it. Even that one is quite a long walk from any public transport though. |

Thanks for the tips. We might take a trip to the nudist beach, either by bike or hire a car. The sex shows could be interesting, so will look out for them. Apart from that, we'll mostly be chilling out on the beach or by the pool, enjoying a well-deserved rest! |

Just thought we'd feed back on the nudist beach. We went to the one past La Cala. It was a bus ride to La Cala beach, then a walk up Carrer Tramuntana before turning left onto a coastal path. We used Google Maps on satellite mode to make sure we stayed on the route. The path is steep and rocky in places, but for anyone used to hill walking in the UK, it's quite similar. Recommend trainers or walking shoes though - definitely no good in flip flops! The walk is about 30 minutes in total from the bus stop to the nudist beach. The beach is popular with gay men, but there were a few couples there too. We highly recommend it - the scenery is stunning and the cove is perfect for swimming/snorkelling. |

About culture: it is a popular misconception that places in Spain that are popular with British tourists are not quite Spain. If you speak Spanish everywhere in Spain is Spain. Or just ask people who work in the hotel, they will appreciate your interest. |

Recommend a night at the benidorm palace and a trip to the terra mitica theme park.
We took a trip last year round the old villages surrounding the area which were settled in by the Arabs ending with Guadalest. Was a lovely day out.
Thinking of the half day trip to the waterfall where the 80s Timotei advert was filmed this year. |

We went to the waterfall - It was amazing - you can swim in them and it's only 4 euros to get in and you can get public transport there - definitely recommend it!!! - MrsB |
