Due to the current situation in EGYPT
Sharm is ok and safe
sharm is excluded from the current curfew
and more people are coming here for that reason too.
Tourists are safe in their hotels & beaches
All excursions were suspended only the first day of the curfew, but now all back to normal.
British tourism is known as supporting sharm el sheikh since the Egyptian revolution on 25/1/2011 when they insisted to stay and continue their holidays here

"yeah well
it's what they want you to know.
not the truth
ring any brit in sharm and ask "
So you say, but at the end of the day the decision to go or not to go is out of our hands, without looing at fair few quid, and the sooner the home office follows suite the better |

"well we have been 8times in 3 years and defo do not want the home office to cancel, you do no insurance or credit card companies are not refunding if its civil unrest"
Don't know who is giving you, your information.
But having already spoke to the travel company, who have informed us that if the home office do say it's is not letting anyone to travel,we are entitled to choose another destination or a Full refund |

We were so looking forward to this holiday, however not quite sure about going now, it's a decision only we can make.
And we have few weeks to ponder over the pros and cons, although we have always believed in what will be will be |

Sharm is absolutely fine! It's a flight away from all the trouble- hence why the home office say its ok to travel there!
It would be like banning travel to South Wales because there was a problem in Aberdeen!? It's all relative! |

We were there not so long ago. More danger of being charged exhorbitant prices by the wiley locals than being shot at by a post revolutionary revolutionist lol Can't wait to get back there now we know whats what! |

I went to sharm on 14th august and it was fine.
I went to cairo to see pyrimids and the town closed at 7pm but it was safe to travel took 6 hours to get there from sharm. And 6 hrs back so we left before the curfew.
The british media just make it ten times worst than it is honestly. |

Just logged onto Gov. Uk re travel to Egypt and it's saying The FCO advise against travel to certain places and one of them includes Sharm, bloody shame as a diver I love the place but most people will probably go with the advice from the Foreign office. |

hi jo
do ur homework on tripadvisor when choosing a hotel .
naama bay is the centre of sharm its where all the nightlife is , if that's what ur after ?
we have stayed at the oriental rivoli for the last 2 visits its only a 15min walk up the promenade to naama bay ( saves the hassle of haggling for taxis !)
as for playing if u find someone in the hotel its np , but if u try to bring someone back it could be a problem !
we met a couple there and had to sneak about for ages b4 we got them back to our room !!
just give me a shout if u need to know anything else x |

Jo,
Totally agree with the above post, much more flexibility if you stay close to naama bay, the hotels further out would make it difficult to invite potential playmates back, unless of course they stay in the same hotel...I was there in October, my 12th trip...I go for the diving.. I stayed at the Hilton waterfalls and was lucky to meet a couple from Germany staying at he hotel...is it your first trip?... Can offer advice n stuff re bars n some of the pitfalls to avoid..feel free to inbox me...I would thoroughly recommend Egypt..the place and people are really friendly and helpful...and it's safe.. |

Thanks babe xx went on a family holiday there 18 months ago so I know the general geography. I note your point about getting people from other hotels in, hadn't considered that. Might think about somewhere else but do want some sun!

I'm going for 2 weeks from the 27th feb .
I'm staying in Nabq just outside naama , this will be my 8th time and love it !!
Met a couple last time out and wow very hardwork trying to get Back to there room !!
Worth it in the end though
I would not worry about being safe was there at the height of the trouble and no issues at all just less tourists .
If anyone else fancied meeting up for a drink drop
me a line |

Nothing would induce us to go to any Muslim country - apart from the troubles that so many middle eastern countries are subjecting themselves through and the attractiveness to terrorism that a bunch of Western Tourists poses to jihadi fanatics, their attitude to naturism as practicing nudists means our nude pound is spent where it is welcome (that applies anywhere!) |
