Personally wouldn't try Cunard for your first cruise line. Very very traditional. For short cruises etc would say more MSC or P&O. I think Virgin do short Voyages as well from Portsmouth but not certain.

Used to work for a cruise line myself. There are a few apps and cruise agents etc which are good for finding cheap cruises or cheaper cruises. As well as youtubers etc.
