Great minds think alike, we’re off to Sharm but not until march.
Have you been before? Was it at this time of year and is the weather good enough to sunbathe when you’re going?

Savoy and concord are next to each others and both in soho square area, the area is lively and there is a beautiful nightclub inside savoy that opens and party on monday night. The beaches are ok there but not the warmest in winter
Naama bay area is warmer but the hotel are not as nice |

We were also thinking of booking the Sultan Resort but now we’ll look at naama too. Ty xx
By your name, we guess you either live there full time or have a place you visit often?

"All booked. 16/3/23 for a week. Invite for socials with couples around Shark bay / Naama bay welcome xx"
Oh I love sharks bay , nice and out the way and has a lovely reef for snorkelling right on the beach. Stay in little Bedouin huts right on the beach.
I normally go in November , also hike and camp at the summit of Mount Sinai in little stone huts, they give you loads of wool blankets and candles as there’s no electric & make you gorgeous local food - highly recommend this - amazing sunsets - no more than about 10 tourists are ever there as the crowds all walk up at sunrise |

You can get money changed in the hotels. They prefer dollars and best to get $1 bills for tipping. Always be polite and tip and they will look after you.
The old town can be pushy so be firm. Learn some words and phrases and they will appreciate it. Wear respectful clothing at meal times and outside of the resort.
Take antihistamines. Buy their version of Imodium from a local pharmacy as ours will not work.
Everything is washed in bottled water, do not drink from the tap. |

"We did the submarine boat to look at the coral and fish and it was lush. We will be doing it again when we go back" that sounds awesome. We did it in Menorca …30mins and literally the only fish we saw was the tuna in our sandwiches.

"Whats the heat like now? It was 26° when we left in February " still 23~26 and not a cloud in the sky. Off to Soho square at 8pm then the old market in a couple of days. The sea is a little too frosty but we’ll brave that for the fish |

Just got back from a week in grand rotana resort sharks bay, awesome hotel without the price tag of similar hotels. Flew from Luton to sharm on wizz air. Booked flights direct with wizz air and hotel on booking.com. met a few couples in the hotel bar from UK, Russia and Italy. Had a few good socials |

Oh wow, we are literally next door ant the Sultan atm. It is 90% Russian speakers with a couple of Brits, French and Italians here (accending order)
Soho square is a strange mix of expensive fake goods and LED lighting. Other than a few restaurants and an ice-rink there are 300shops selling 1 of 3 things.. clothes & bags, Jewellery & Watches or Potions and perfumes. It’s a mystery how it survives with each shop of its type selling indentical goods in an identical “stack-it-high” style.
Still, hotel lovely, staff lovelier and weather loveliest of all |

Off to Sharm for the first time ever in a couple of weeks, booked it so last minute as we normally go to the Canary Islands and wanted something a bit different. Got a lot of reading to do to learn about the areas and culture as it will be a lot more conservative compared to the Canaries. |
