I was into them today and left bcos they were trying to charge me a lot more than what was quoted online. I told the guy this and he effectively said, "yes, but that's before all of the hidden things that they don't show you online".
He was right to be fair, when I figured out their insurance stuff. But there was no way I could go with them after that.
I just went through Europcar online in the end bcos they were all saying they had a shortage of cars, so I didn't want to book through a third party and have no recourse.
Mind you, I think they just say that when you're there in person to gouge you |

I live here in the Algarve and the one thing that really rips people off is the car hire. Saying there are no cars is crap, the only time all the cars are out is August. You might even seriously think about not hiring a car and using Uber. It is really fantastic down here, usually pick you up within 5 minutes, quite cheap and no risk of Drinking and Driving |
