Up on them there hills

The telly has developed a slight darkening in a patch, I need to get a new one, all the shops are shut.

I need to see, hear and touch one before I decide if it’s a yes or no.

Oh woe is me...

There should be a button on your remote control that says menu, and then maybe auto tune and then all the free view channels should appear.. Or.. Sign up to Sky, BT, or buy a Now TV box and that's another way you can get your TV running with extra channels

John Lewis are a good company to but TVs through as they give 5 year warranty, many don’t and they do price match, I would imagine they are still doing online and think you will find they do free returns as Curry’s do if your not happy

Yeah I've tried everything, Googled it, Sony website etc.

The EPG just says 'no event information' Think it might be something to with Sony not receiving Freesat or Freeview, cant remember which

Sorry OP btw, didn't mean to high jack the thread

There's a thing these days called the internet. It allows you to shop without having to go out. Perfect for covid 19 outbreaks and for those that can't be arsed going to their local Rumbelows. Try it, it's fun. You can get porn on it too so I'm led to believe.

Might have to unplug and start from scratch. We've been watching the Beeb through iPlayer rather than on the live TV channels.

Sometimes it's not just a case of retuning. Try turning everything off at the wall, leave for a few minutes then turn back on. If this doesn't work then you may need to reposition or renew your aerial.

Thanks, the aerial is pretty new but yes, it might need repositioning. A task requiring longer ladders than I think we possess and even S being 6ft 4 isn't going to stretch to it

then it should auto tune for normal tv. but as it isn't it sounds like you have the tv set to get a signal from the wrong source.

usually on the right hand side of the screen to the side edge will be a series of small buttons.

one of them will change the source. you probably have the sky box plugged in with a hdmi cable, so the tv screen will show something like hdmi 1.

I think there are four buttons

1 to start

2 to move up and down

1 to select.
