its been a while since we have personally been though other friends went more recently.
Compared to clubs like Libs, Chams, VA, Atlantis and abfabs, to name but a few it really doesn't compare. Now, perhaps that comparison is unfair, but you will notice that a lot of clubs on the scene are becoming more modern and the older ones are going through a refurb. Everyone is pulling their socks up and raising their game, and Liasons will need to do the same. It felt dated when we went, and not a huge amount has changed from what we are told, again, we emphasize we haven't been personally for a while.
Clubs have to re-invest and listen to their members in order to survive but they also have to be competitive. Numbers of single men is always a big problem (And complaint) that we hear about this and other clubs. Even if you do want to go on mixed night, you don't want a club letting 50 single guys in for every couple or girl.
It was friendly, and we did go on a social night, and the facilities weren't bad, but nowadays, you have to really raise your game as much as possible. We gave it 2.5 out of 5. |

I hadn't been to Liaisons for several years, returning to it for a party night in April.
I would say that the club was pretty much the same as it had been several years earlier, but it was clean and both the staff and other customers were friendly and chatty.
The mix that night, which was a Friday was a quite acceptable mix of couples and singles and based on that one night I would go again.
By way of comparison, I restarted going to Adam & Eves in Eccles, Manchester last December after a long break and have been a couple of times this year. This club has had some improvements to it, and while not matching everyones requirements especially if you want an upbeat trendy place, I'd say it actually is pretty good and under-rated. Last night for example there was about 6 couples in, 2 single ladies and about 6 single guys too. It was a jovial friendly place despite the fact that 2 of the couples were newbies to the club, is very clean and for those that wanted to, it was quite an active club too, so small numbers doesn't mean it's not a happening place.
By contrast, my other favorite club is Xtasia in West Brom which i normally go to on party nights like the one pending on 25 May. This is a huge club but the party night will have about 150 people there a good mix of singles and couples, but by conrast to Liaisons and Adam & Eves is a clothed club.
Maybe the OP can give some feedback to how many were at Liaisons on Sat night. |
