We don't block single guys, partly because I don't like to tarnish all with the same brush.
This means we do receive the occasional message, most just want to compliment pictures or profile, some try to garner interest.
The minority are chancers who spam lots of profiles hoping one will reply and meet immediately. I just delete these, then usual block them also.
It is this last situation which causes me to understand why others do indeed block single guys.
However, as nobody is meeting at the moment, and there are lots of single guys on here self-isolating or not able to socialise, maybe people should consider the 'be nice' concept and remove the restriction until we come out there other end of Corona?
What's the worst that could happen? |

like you I do not block unless someone is being an idiot.
even bi/gay guys do send me compliments etc and I have no problem with that.
like you, I am entertaining conversations, message exchange with people all over this country.
its very important we all together consider each other and a persona possible mental health.
this site brings many people together in ways that years ago was not possible.
think how lucky we are to have met and enjoyed good times with at first strangers who become good friends.
we all in this together, so lets keep each other going and you never know, you may get new friends on that list.

It's a shame there's no auto-filter, or cool down for profiles. So you can reject any messages with less than a set number of words, or perhaps if you're sending too many messages to different people it forces you to wait in between.
Wouldn't stop it all together, but unfortunately there's only two options on Fab - open the floodgates to the crap, or block everyone. |
