I’m a female vocalist who frequently performs at vast variety of venues and events, such as social clubs, holiday camps, weddings, private parties etc.
I would have no hesitation accepting a booking to perform at an adult club as long as I didn’t have to perform naked and my personal space would be respected and maintained whilst I’m performing.
My reasons for the above 2 conditions are that I’d feel too self-conscious and not confident enough about my physical appearance to perform naked.
I’ve had a few occasions when an over enthusiastic audience member, usually a young lad that’s had too much to drink, has wanted me to feel, or worse still show me how much he and a certain part of his anatomy enjoyed my performance. It can be very difficult to remember the words to song when somebody unexpected jumps onto the stage, drops their trousers and underwear the grabs my hand so I can “feel how much he is enjoying himself”
When this happens I stop singing and ask if the venue can turn the heating on/up and the “gentleman” in front of me is obviously feeling very cold........
