I've had this type of relationship. We met on here and had an amazing few years together.

Said this much earlier in the thread, experience has shown that to enter into the swinging relationship with the idea of status quo is doomed to fail. Relationship is more than carrying on like nothing has changed it is without exception a change. A genuine relationship the dynamic will be different so you change what you want from swinging.

We were singles, we met fell in love what we wnat from swinging changed dramatically. Certainly from my point of view being the male half, I certainly didn't want to carry on asif I was still single. So what we we want form swinging if anything is very different now. So to answer the question a swinging relationship is possible but to be successful then it will need to adapt and change. If you don't want change then is down to being FWBs or FBs
