Who on here has had to self isolate or has been confirmed COVID-19? I wish you a speedy recovery. Sad times.

It's getting to the point where I wish I had the bloody virus just so I don't have to hear about it anymore.

Pasta and pizza? Dodgy politics? An inability to stick to one side in a world war?

11 people now have died let's all hide away.

Last year 40,000 died of the flu, may get that high again this year.

Don't understand why this flu is any different.

Common flu has a mortality rate of 0.2% Covid 19 has a mortality rate of 2.0% that's a big difference.

I think it’s because it’s a new virus that has the potential for many many people to catch at the same time which means pressure on NHS.

yes many people catch the flu and don’t die.. but there is always a concern in the flu season in hospitals.. this is a larger scale is my understanding as we have no immunity to it yet.

I rem_mber catching swine flu 10 years ago and spent 3 days in hospital - everyone at the time said it’s only flu - i was a lot younger then , but was not nice at all. So from

previous experience I am selfishly worried Mrs x

Whatever if you are old, or have old relatives it’s a worry and concern.

I'd be interested to know the stats of what we now call seasonal flu, when each component of it first presented itself, before inoculation.

Well one of the components of seasonal flu killed well over 100 million people as a novel virus.

What was the mortality rate of flu before the vaccines?

Preston

A vaccine won't change the mortality rate.

It will stop people getting it.

So less people will die.

The mortality rate will stay the same.

I'm not concerned about this for me. I am concerned about people who are old or ill.

I spent a month in Asia and have already self isolated for 14 days. I didn't test positive for COVID-19.

If you think staying indoors for 14 days sounds like fun, I can assure you that it's a royal pain in the arse, and soon loses its novelty value.

I've been back out in the wild for nearly 2 weeks by the way and I'm asymptomatic.

I feel crap with what I would say is flu. 111 what a joke advise treats every one the same. Stay at home for 7days. Then what?

Perhaps we had epidemics with hospital corridors filled with patients and we just didn't notice?

Perhaps deaths from flu rose by a factor of 15 and no one noticed?

What happened with COVID-19? Did the rich and powerful decide to create a panic over a benign virus in order to get their share values to plumet?

I would be interested to know what percentage of our population are affected by normalcy bias.
