We sleep 3 in a bed a few times and a few times I have got up and left wife in bed with the other guy and gone in another bed room as got too warm

You have to be practical about whether you can actually get sleep.

Three or four under one duvet can get hot in the thermal sense and unmanageable.

If you are in the middle and you wake up in the night needing a pee you have to find some way to slide out without waking the others.

Etc, etc.

So if you can all sleep it's nice and if you can't then pragmatism has you heading off to the sofa, the spare room or whatever.

I don't do sleepovers. It's too complicated with my circumstances and I can't sleep if people are in bed with me.

No you dont get much sleep with 3 in a bed. Too many limbs.

Regularly squeeze on our king size, me always in the middle, yes it's not practical and far too hot at times but we usually pretty exhausted so all pass out for a hours till someone starts again.
