Who is fed up with remakes of films.
They making All quite on the western front again.
To many spider Man and batman remakes.
And Charlie and the Chocolate factory was so very bad.
What's your worse film remake.
Or a good remake that worth watching |

Nothing wrong with remakes if the demand is there they will make them if not they won't people don't have to watch them after all.
The reality is the production companies have to make some money so they make what they see a market for. |

A lot of remakes are crap. The Vinnie Jones version of Mean Machine was rubbish - can't beat Burt Reynolds.
Remake of Assault on Precinct 13 was also a pale shadow of the original.
But the Attenborough version of Miracle on 34th Street was streets better than the original with Edmund Gwenn. |

The ones that really get me are the the foreign films that are redone about 6 months later with English speaking actors. As if people are too dumb to deal with subtitles.
"old boy" is an example of a great film, completely ruined in this way.
A few years back, I heard "the crow" was going to be remade with mark wahlberg..i'm so glad that never happened. |

I reckon all quiet on the western front could be good if done correctly. It is also being done in German language, so should add more realism to the film I think. |

LA Take Down, was the pilot for Heat.
In it's own way was as good and as distinctive from Heat. So neither was a remake. Which doesn't help this thread really..... |
