'I've been here before...' Have you though?

How often do you think the 'I've been here before' line is genuine?
I've known a couple who left, deleted their account and then later set up a new one. So, I know that it *can* be true, obviously.
However, it seems that it is also often just a way to explain away the lack of verifications, or imply that they have more experience than they really do.
What do you think? Or am I just an old cynic these days? |

I think it's funny when you see people in the forums asking how to get verified etc and then you go on their profile and have the 'been here before so I know the craic' line. If you've been here before, you should know how it works

Oh, I disagree. If two profiles were equally appealing, yet one had 6 glowing verifications, whilst the other had none at all, I know which one we would choose. |

Generally take it as genuine statement but as with every profile take in all the various elements of it as a package when assessing if its genuine or not. After a while on here you start developing a 6th sense for profiles that are iffy. |

We left, took a break and come back, been on and off this site for 4+ years now, we generally delete it when we get bored or something happens in life where we know we wont be on for a good 6/7 months etc |
