Notts/Derby

I’ve got a small collection. Loved them from when I was given a set as a teenager. Thinking about getting a matching cuff link and earring set for Ms on our next anniversary. Gives me a year to plan

Great idea, might have to pinch that, thing is it’s our 20th anniversary in September, isn’t 20 years expensive?

Have a few sets, however only tend to wear two, my gold ones for James Bind moments and my Yoda (Do or do not, there is no try) wood ones when in important meetings.

They kind of being a character out of me.

There was an underwear thread a little while ago, which had an echo of this.

I have quite a big collection including lots of odd ones....

But wearing them much less these days as wearing full / formal suits less and finding shirts that have cuffs, a pocket and tailored is becoming much harder..

I only use then when wearing my dinner suit about 3 or 4 times a year. I don't really have a reason to wear a suit as I have a work uniform. And I only have two shirts.

Funny I have more blouses lol

But I just don't wear shirt's.

a few lady friends that I know have cuff links as you can buy blouses that use them. But the work in an office. And my ex ex used to love wearing my white dinner suit dress shirt at times. And you asked do you wear cufflinks I just answered that I do when I have to. But it's not a normal thing for me. So hows my comment bi. As I answered the question

I’m simply not bi, it was off your comment and didn’t want anything to be misconstrued, while giving you the credit for the idea.

Now if you want to take this further.....

I often wear cuff links with double cuffed blouses.

The blouses are very smart and (I think) sexy. I normally get the from thrywhitts.

I tend to get my shirts made for me. I have always found shirts to be a ridiculous garment. Impractical and uncomfortable. I wear them when I have to, mainly for work. As for cuff links. Sorry, that becomes ridiculous squared.

I generally only wear double cuffs and have a collection of vintage (50’s, 60’s and 70’s) cufflinks. They may not be everyone’s taste; but I didn’t see the point in wearing boring ones

I’ll look at that.

Only know the manufacturer of one set that I bought, the rest were gifted.

Would love to know where the gold ones came from, they carry some weight.

Woodbridge

Where to even start?

Chunky silver knots which weigh a ton.

Beautiful delicate silver ovals with yellow cloisonne enamel faces, probably 1930s.

Victorian rose gold ovals.

Probably 1950s gold lozenges faced with jet (which thinking about it could be Victorian).

Silver modern butler cuff squares (oh you DO know - the ones with a stud that flicks out) which are quite nice.

Crappy red silk knots.

Much more crappy 1980s fake Deco enamel on gold plated butler cuffs.

Black enamel on silver star and moon pair, although not owning a health food shop in Glastonbury there's little call to wear these.

And a pair of silver Rennie Macintosh links, which were kindly and lovingly meant but I don't really like them.

And no,not every day....

I do have cuff links but seldom remember to wear them. I do, however, always have a tie pin when I have my tie and if appropriate, have my grandad`s silver pocket watch and Albert chain.

I think they can add a little touch of class to what I'm wearing. Apart from a watch I don't wear jewellery.
