What's the biggest moth here?

Birmingham

Atlas moths are the considered the largest moth species in the world due to its combined wingspan and surface area. The females are bigger and heavier than the male with the wingspan ranging from 10 to 12 inches and a surface area of approximately 62 square inches. But has anyone here seen one? If not, what is the biggest moth you've seen?

Hillside desolate

I saw one at work last year that was so big I thought it was actually a bat at first, until it landed. Everyone was freaking out. I like moths though

I've seen atlas moths, my best friend bought some cocoons last year, absolutely stunning.

I like the hummingbird hawk-moths we get over here.

We quite often get a load of elephant hawk moth caterpillars each year around spring/summer. They're quite big.

Well could there possibly be a blatant analogy to these parts...?

"Eww a single moth, looking all creepy in the shadows"

"Oooh pretty butterfly dancing around the room! yes please!"

Nope... can't think of one!

I have a fear of moths (and butterflies)

I actually wrote my car off in 2014 because of a moth believe it or not

Totally irrational and I hate myself for the fear but big or small I can’t cope
