We've been. It's really not as bad as you think it will be. Everyone there is into the same thing. It's really friendly too. It purely is a market some are dressed in fetware some aren't.
The after party is supposed to be good too. |

Me and a friend went a few years ago and loved it.
We aren’t into kink as such but wanted to see what it was all about.
We were meant to have gone a few weeks back but sadly were unable to.
You’ll have a nice time, as above it’s a market. Lots to see and look at and everyone is really friendly.

I've been a few times.
The first two floors are a market selling all sorts of 'fetish' gear, as well as sex toys, costumes / clothes.
Some customers dress up, others are in everyday clothes. No judgement either way.
Depending on your taste, it's always good to be able to try on outfits, handle whips, crops floggers and other stuff, so you can see how good the quality is and how it feels in your hands, which is not an option with internet shopping.
A lot of the stalls are run by the people who make the products.
Normally there is a demonstration at 1:30 on an aspect of BDSM, though January was a best-dressed competition.
If you go to the website, you can see what the demo will be.
I've never stayed for the play-party 'Aftermath' which is in the late afternoon / evening.
My advice is, on your first visit, don't buy anything, until you have looked at all the stalls.
It's easy to get carried away.

I’ve been with friends and in my own. There really is absolutely nothing to be nervous about.
There are people for whom kink is a lifestyle and plenty of others who just enjoy experimenting with sex, or like corsets and other lingerie. Anything goes.
The only downside is I spend too much |

I've been a few times in my own and never felt weird about it. They used to do a newbies tour before it opened, so might be worth seeing if that's still on offer.
I've never been to Aftermath because I've always needed to get home afterwards (the only drawback to it being on a sunday).
Go, explore, there's nothing to be nervous about at all. |
