It does for me.
If I get messaged by anyone who doesn't have a face pic either on their profile or puts one in their first message then I will likely read it but delete without replying as it does say on my profile that a face pic is required.
Usually it goes to show they haven't even read your profile and I think that's bad form.
I certainly wont send a first message unless they have a face pic. |

You're decent looking and have a nice smile, having your pic displayed is definitely an addition.

Personally people need to remember that unfortunately somepeople cant show their face or anything identifing publically due to their occupations or hobbies.
I always send a face pic if the profile asks for one or if im asked. |
