My guess (from various forum threads) is that most the peoples version of tantra/tantric massage is an oily massage with a happy ending.

(And let's not pretend that is not lots of fun, but it's not really tantric, tantra inspired maybe)

Tantra (for me) far more complicated than just a massage. It's energetics, connection, non-judgemental space, to idenfity/ clarify and express boundaries. That can be both pleasurable and / or emotional.

I am still in training, 2 1/2 years on. Tantra is holistic (it deals with the whole body and the mind) and not goal-oriented. It is about the experience not any outcome - though usually there's plenty of that too! It is a sharing of masculine or feminine energy. It is meditation that brings mind and body together.

The post above about the giver being unselfish is spot on. The focus is entirely on the recipient. My rule is that the receiver does no intimate touching during massage as this is a distraction. To give without expectation is a joy in itself.
