We are sick of getting random friends requests from profiles you know you will never get to meet.
I sent this as a reply to such a request.
Thanks for the friends request guys you look like a hot couple.
But you are 170 miles away and have 1 veri for a meet one year ago. So what are the chances we would actually meet? Xx
Harsh but fair? X |

Very generous. I really dislike people sending random friend requests when we have never spoken...
I state in My profile that if they send a friend request out of the blue. I will tell them to f**k off.
They are often not amused to receive that as their reply . Should have read my profile then. |

IF that's exactly the way you put it then it doesn't come across as harsh at all, but almost definitely fair. On the balance of probability you're probably correct. From a personal perspective though I'd say I do message people some distance away as a) I know I will follow through with travelling a fair distance if we connect and b) I tend to go for quality over quantity, so won't rule out messaging someone who's profe I really like and who I find genuinely exciting, though I don't find it surprising or insulting if they ask similar questions to yours. |

I have this on my profile too. No-one reads it. I have over 100 unanswered friend requests on my list. I keep 'em there so they can't send it again for however long they stay on the unanswered list. I will post a status about it but not using names obvs. |

......although I would add that I NEVER send random friends requests to be honest - it comes across as rude, impersonal and utterly disrespectful. |

"Definitely fair, we have the same problem quite often x"
Stern but fair haha
I tend to get a lot of friend requests from the exact opposite for what I’m looking for! That being said have been guilty of sending a friend request with first message to get noticed amongst the hordes of horny single men haha |
