I have seen the acronym amp used more and more here when giving preferences to types of people wanted, this is one I am not aware of could anyone enlighten me please.

Sometimes it's just a fault in the software, where it can't cope with the symbol &.

As has been said it basically means "and". Sometimes the software defaults to amp when & is typed.

The software shortens ampersand, probably change ‘oh my god’ soon.

Must be getting old, something about lazy language (and alliteration) that I find slightly disturbing.

Ha ha my phone has a case on which means sometimes the letters around the edge don't register, but well spotted anyway.

The "&" sign is known as "ampersand" and html doesn't always recognise it hence "amp" along with other mismatched letters show and look like some sort of coding error.
